I have worked in the Learning Disabilities sector since early 2012. Before creating The Inclusion Project, I worked as a Learning Disabilities Teacher at a college in Hertfordshire.
I was proudly the Team Great Britain, Head Basketball Coach, for the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019 and still enjoy playing 'Blended' Basketball in my spare time.
I have been fortunate and humbled to have acquired the following accolades and awards along the way:
· 2021 - Queen's New Year's Honours List
· 2020 - National Autistic Society - Autism Professionals Awards - Outstanding Adult Service in Health or Social Care
· 2019 - AFA Franchise Leader of the Year Award
· 2018 - St Albans Contribution to Disability Sport Award
· 2017 - Hertfordshire Care Awards - Outstanding Achievement in Learning Disability Support
· 2015 - Hertfordshire Sports Awards - Disability Coach of the Year Award
I am passionate about The Inclusion Project and believe in what it can achieve for adults with Learning Disabilities.

I bring over 10 years' marketing experience to The Inclusion Project, and have always been a part of the organisation; working behind the scenes on all things marketing.
I have worked in big corporations, as well as a consultant for independent businesses.
Working in a care setting runs in the family, and has always felt close to my heart. The Inclusion Project would've been a lifeline for my own family had it been available in the '90s.
My passion has always been in creating direct services to assist individuals live the life they want as far as they are able. So when I came across The Inclusion Project and the positive service they had developed it seemed ideal.
I have led, managed and set up services in Social Care and the Health Service for over 30 years and in that time have been fortunate to be able to work in a variety of different roles, learning from the many people who have allowed me in to their lives.
I started by doing voluntary work for a charity in Hackney London and worked with victims of crime, refugees, and people with a range of learning care needs and abilities.
I qualified as a Social Worker in 1989 working in the North of England and began specialising in old age dementia before moving to Adult Mental Health where I had my first taste of developing services at a community level, which is something I really enjoy.
I moved south to Hertfordshire in 1995 to set up local care support services and then went into the Health Service in a variety of management roles. Most recently I have been working across the east of England for a charity specialising in Learning Disability Services.
I have a few qualifications to help me do all this but that’s it really.
In my spare time I drink tea, eat cakes and like the odd biscuit. I have been known to raise money by running for quite long distances, for a charity; Unique, that personally helped me and my family. I like painting, walking up mountains and I used to keep chickens.
Oh, I also set up some small community project to help local schools put solar panels up which has been great fun.

I started with The Inclusion Project as a Participant, and actually met Simon Jackson-Turner whilst out with my Group Leader. Simon and I started talking about our shared passion for systems and testing code ... I am now working as the Systems Officer, with Simon as my mentor.
I enjoy problem solving, automating tasks, and making different pieces of software work together.
I have a strong background in Mathematics; a Bachelors in Mathematics from Warwick University, and a Masters in Mathematics from the Open University. I also have some experience with Maths tutoring. During my time as a student, I was first exposed to Programming and to Computer Science. My interest in these areas has only grown over time.
On the Programming side of things, I have varying levels of experience with (La)TeX, MATLAB, SageMath, Haskell, Python, Lua, C, and Bash/shell scripting, among others.
